Kate English brings more than 15 years of business operations experience to the Literacy SC board. Currently a Business Analyst at the South Carolina Department of Education, she has built her career on making organizations run better, from streamlining processes and managing resources to using data to drive smarter decisions. She knows that behind every successful program is a strong operational foundation, and she brings that same practical, get-it-done mindset to her board service.

Kate is also a skilled photographer and videographer, and she puts those talents to work for Literacy SC by producing short and long form video content for social media, training, and storytelling. For Kate, literacy is the foundation of opportunity. She believes every South Carolinian deserves the chance to read, learn, and reach their full potential, and she is proud to support an organization working to make that a reality. Kate holds an MBA from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the Leadership Columbia class of 2025.
