The Building Was Damaged. Our Mission Wasn't.
On August 6, 2026, a severe storm caused significant roof and flooding damage to the Literacy SC main office, including substantial damage to the ceiling and interior of our space.
Our office located 2069 N. Beltline, Blvd, Columbia,SC 29204, is currently closed while we address immediate safety concerns, assess the full extent of the damage, and determine what repairs and restoration will be required.
We are grateful that our team is safe, but seeing the damage to a place that has served South Carolina learners for decades is difficult. We are taking the necessary steps to ensure everyone’s safety while we assess the damage and determine what comes next. We also know that Literacy SC has never been about a building. It is about people, and we are committed to continuing our mission.
