How Our Programs Work
At Literacy SC, we remove the barriers to education. We don’t use “school-style” desks, tons of tests, or judgmental grading. Instead, we offer:
- Free Instruction: Our private reading tutoring plus all of our basic reading classes are 100% free of charge.
- Flexible Locations: With 27 partner sites across South Carolina, including the Reading Lab @ Richland Library Main, we meet you where you are.
- Proven Curriculum: We use the science of reading, a step-by-step roadmap that builds your sounds and comprehension skills from the ground up.
- Trained Support: You will work with staff-led classes or trained volunteer tutors who are dedicated to your success.
