Literacy SC is a debt-free, cash-in-hand nonprofit built for high-impact agility and direct results. Aside from our CEO, every member of our team is a specialist devoted entirely to direct program delivery and learner success. Our roles are hybrid, flexible, and fully resourced, allowing us to remain “mean and lean” while serving many corners of South Carolina.

A Note on Executive Leadership

Literacy SC shares that Chief Executive Officer Lisa Cole announced her resignation this summer due to ongoing health challenges. We extend our deepest gratitude to Lisa for her dedication, leadership, and impactful service to our mission and community since March 2021, first as a board member and then as our executive leadership in August 2022.

The Board of Directors is currently overseeing the executive transition to ensure uninterrupted operations and continued support for our programs. For inquiries regarding the executive search process, please contact Acting Board Chair Theresa Harrison at tharrison@literacysc.org.
